Warranty & Defective Product Policy (Canada)

Applies to purchases from D-Tail Lab inc. This policy does not limit the legal rights available to consumers under applicable Canadian and provincial law.

Warranty Terms (Numbered)

  1. Definitions & Scope
    • “Manufacturing defect” = a fault in materials or workmanship present at delivery.
    • “Tools” = powered or mechanical equipment used in detailing (e.g., polishers, vacuum, pressurized equipment, foamers, etc.).
    • “Pads” = foam, microfiber, wool, or similar polishing pads.
    • “Back Plates” = rotary/DA backing plates and adapters.
    • “Accessories” = bottles, sprayers, triggers, brushes, nozzles, towels, microfibers, fittings, and other non-powered items.

  3. Exclusions (apply to all categories)
    • Misuse, abuse, drops/impacts, improper storage, chemical attack, or use outside the product’s intended purpose/spec.
    • Normal wear and tear (e.g., pad edge wear, microfiber linting, trigger fatigue, scuffs, cosmetic marks).
    • Improper installation, incompatible chemicals (e.g., high-solvent exposure on foam), over-speeding tools, modified products, non-OEM parts.
    • Commercial rental use, or lack of routine maintenance as specified by the manufacturer.
  4. How to file a claim
    1. Email info@dtaillab.com with subject “Warranty Claim – D-Tail Lab”.
    2. Include: order number (DXXXXX), purchase date, product name/SKU, serial (if any), photos/video of the defect, and a brief description of usage and cleaning/maintenance steps.
    3. You can also do a claim within our online portal by clicking here.
    4. Report DOA issues within 7 days of delivery for priority handling.
  5. Resolution

    If a manufacturing defect is confirmed, D-Tail Lab inc. will, at our discretion, repair, replace with the same or equivalent item, or refund the purchase price on a gift certificate or store credit. If the exact model is unavailable, we may offer a functionally equivalent substitute or refund the purchase price on a gift certificate or store credit.

  6. Where to File & Shipping
    • Purchased from an authorized dealer or distributor (tools, pads, or motorized accessories): Please return to that seller first for assessment and service. They will process the claim under this policy and coordinate with D-Tail Lab as needed.
    • Purchased directly from D-Tail Lab (online or in-store):
      • For approved claims: you must return the product to us or drop the item off at our store (Canada). 
      • For items found not defective: the item is returned to you at your cost or made available for pickup.

  7. Original Purchaser; Non-Transferable

    Coverage applies to the original purchaser and is non-transferable. Proof of purchase from D-Tail Lab inc. is required.

  8. Your Statutory Rights (Canada)

    This limited warranty operates in addition to, and does not exclude or limit, your rights under Canadian law, including implied conditions/warranties under provincial Sale of Goods legislation and, in Québec, the legal warranty (garantie légale). D-Tail Lab inc. will comply with all mandatory remedies required by law.

  10. Limitations of Liability

    To the extent permitted by law, D-Tail Lab inc. is not liable for incidental, indirect, or consequential losses arising from product failure. This clause does not apply where prohibited (including for Québec consumers under the garantie légale).

    We may update this policy from time to time. The version posted on this page is the current version and applies to purchases made after its effective date.
